Paris 2014

We had an awesome opportunity to go to Spain with Brian's parents and of course we accepted the offer. And while we were traveling to Spain we thought it would be fun to see Paris for a few days before we met up with Brian's parents in Spain.

Monday afternoon the 15th of September, we drove to Salt Lake City and caught  a non-stop flight to Paris. 10 hours. I am not a fan of sitting in an airline seat with my long legs for 10 or more hours at a time. Sitting on the plane waiting for them to shut  the doors, I decided to get a kindle version of a book that I had tried to purchase, and it never arrived. So seconds before we left the ground it was finally downloaded so I could look at it during our flight.

Watched a movie, did a little reading of the book and we decided we would try to take 1/2 of an ambien, so we could sleep and not be wiped out. Did not work terrifically, but we were able to rest a little. I think I am just so uncomfortable in an airplane seat nothing is going to make it so I can really sleep. But there were not crying babies the whole way like our trip to Chile. So overall I must say it was not horrible.

Stepped off the plane and made our way to the baggage claim. While waiting for our bags decided to find a restroom. Looked up and saw the men logo on the left woman on the right so I turned right to go into the restroom. Oops! It was the men's.

We arrived in Paris at about 11:00 a.m. September 16th.  And by the time we got a metro pass and found our way through the metro to our hotel, suitcases in tow, it was about 2:00 p.m. We crashed for about an hour and then we were off in search of the Eiffel Tower.

Impressive!!! What an awesome place. We decided we would take the stairs (at least720) to the second floor observation deck where you can stand in line again to take the elevator to the top. We decided not to stand in that line because it went almost all the way around the tower. Views were impressive from where we were. We purchased a drink and took pictures. Called Nicole. She loves the Eiffel Tower and we hope she has the chance to visit it herself.

Walked back down the stairs and found some dinner at one of the many places to eat on the streets of Paris. It got dark while we were eating, so we went back and took more pictures of the Eiffel Tower at night. And made our way back to our hotel.
